It would be nice if I could sent a quick note with the PHQ request if it has been a while since the patient has sent one. That was the text looks more personal.
Hey Dr. Oxley,
This is a great idea!
We spent some time thinking about it and our primary concern is that allowing clinics to send ANY text message would allow for the possibility for a clinic to send PHI via text messages (e.g. “John Smith I see your mood is down, is that because of your chemo treatments?”) which is not allowed.
However, we have come up with an idea where you could send a secure message to your patient. You would send a secure message via our encrypted website; the patient would then get a text message saying they have a secure message from their clinic and to click on the link to read it. That would then send them to our encrypted website where they could read the message and even respond. A PHQ-9 link could also be added if you wished.
We think this could be an excellent option for clinics and will put it on our product development roadmap.
